A look back at SureCare’s annual conference & awards ceremony

After another successful year for SureCare, we brought our nationwide franchisees together once again for our annual conference in our home city of Chester.

Earlier this month, SureCare’s head office team invited operators, managers and esteemed guests from up and down the country to join in our yearly celebration. Taking place at the prestigious DoubleTree by Hilton, the event on 6th April allowed us to reflect on the last 12 months, as well as look forward to the year ahead.

As always, the annual conference gave us a fantastic opportunity to say hello to our long-standing franchisees, as well as all the new faces we’ve welcomed into the SureCare family over the last year.

Daytime conference

SureCare’s Managing Director and Franchisor, Gary Farrer, kicked things off with a short welcome to our friends and colleagues who’d travelled a long way to join us. Gary focused on the recent successes and challenges we’ve faced, setting the tone for a day of seminars and workshops that aim to improve the business practices of our franchisees.

This year, there was quite a heavy focus on the role of technology across the SureCare network. This included an introduction to our new online marketing portal, which allows franchisees to easily access documents that are necessary for their daily operations. We also launched our new social media recruitment service and explored the results of the pilot scheme conducted at SureCare North Leeds & Harrogate.

SureCare Annual Conference

We learned a lot about compliance and correct handling of personal data during our mid-afternoon session. This focus on compliance comes ahead of the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which comes into force from 25th May. Following this, we were brought up to speed on current market conditions in a short presentation from UKHCA representative Andrew Heffernan.

Some of our operators also shared some of their personal experiences with everyone throughout the day. Chris from SureCare Shropshire spoke to us about a pilot scheme in his area helping hospital outpatients getting back into the home. Later on, Derek of SureCare Fylde & Wyre gave us an insight into the up and downs of his business since opening last year.

Evening entertainment

Following the day’s talks and presentations, a short closing speech and Q&A session with Gary Farrer helped us to reflect on the topics we covered this year. From there, we had a couple of hours to prepare ourselves for an event-filled evening.

Welcoming everyone back to the Abbey Suite with some pre-dinner drinks, we sat down to enjoy an elegant Gala Dinner along with our annual Awards Ceremony. This is where we got to recognise the achievements of our nationwide franchisees and members of the SureCare network.

Once the awards had been handed out, there was only one more thing to do: let our hair down and enjoy a night of live entertainment… with lots and lots of dancing!

After 24 years of operation, we’re pleased to see SureCare continuing to progress with each passing year. We’re thrilled that we’ve been able to celebrate this on-going success with our extended SureCare family once again.
